La Pescaia sits at the foot of the hills between Roccastrada and Castiglione della Pescaia, surrounded by old olive trees. The stone farmhouse, the big shade trees and the open lawns give lots of different backdrops within a short walk, so the day never feels rushed. And then there was the table: a long canopy of white flowers, crystal chandeliers hanging from the cedars and peach roses on every plate. One of the most beautiful I have ever photographed.
The whole day was relaxed and fun. The speeches were pure British humour, and the guests laughed so hard the chandeliers were nearly shaking. We waited for the sun to drop behind the cedar tree for portraits, then the party moved into the old cellar, fans and all.
This gallery shows the summer wedding of an English couple at La Pescaia Resort, a restored 19th-century villa-farm near Roccastrada in Tuscany’s Maremma, photographed by AlbumWeddings, a destination wedding photographer based in Slovenia. It follows the whole weekend: a pre-wedding gelato moment, getting ready in the stone farmhouse, an outdoor ceremony among olive trees, speeches full of British humour, golden-hour portraits, dinner under a canopy of flowers and chandeliers and dancing in the old cellar.
Yes. Tuscany is one of my most requested destinations. I travel from Slovenia, so there are no long-haul flights to plan around, and travel is quoted simply and clearly.
It’s a restored villa-farm with stone buildings, olive groves and wide lawns, so the ceremony, portraits and dinner can all happen on site with very different backdrops.
Yes. Welcome drinks, the day before and a farewell brunch can all be part of your story. Many destination couples love having the whole weekend in one album.
