A Slovenian couple with a real spark chose one of the most extraordinary places on Lake Garda for their family wedding. Everyone crossed to the island by water taxi, and the whole day was emotional, warm and very much in love.

About Isola del Garda

Isola del Garda is the largest island on Lake Garda, about fifteen minutes by water taxi from the shore. The villa looks like a little Venetian palace, and the ceremony takes place in its loggia, under the tower, with the lake shining between the arches. After the vows we had the whole garden to ourselves: ivy-covered arcades, sunny window niches, bougainvillea and long views over the water.

It was a family wedding in the truest sense: parents kissing on the boat, a dog waiting at the ceremony and lots of happy tears. The two of them got ready together that morning, which I always love, and you can see how in love they are in every single frame.

Yes. Lake Garda is only a few hours’ drive from my home in Slovenia, so it’s one of the easiest Italian lakes for me to reach, with no flights needed.

By boat from the shore. The crossing takes around fifteen minutes and makes a beautiful part of the story, so I photograph it too.

Absolutely. Dogs make some of the most joyful pictures of the day. Just let me know in advance so we can plan a few relaxed moments together.
