A summer countryside wedding at Mestni Vrh

Mestni Vrh is a hilltop settlement just north of Ptuj, Slovenia’s oldest town, with wide views over the green hills of Styria. The wedding was full of handmade, playful details: vinyl records as table numbers, a vintage camper van serving drinks, deckchairs on the lawn and a ceremony arch dressed in wildflowers.

Summer days in Styria are long and bright, so we kept portraits for the very end of the day, when the sun was low and warm behind the old barns. Later the big tree in the garden glowed with fairy lights and the band played until late.

Every detail had their fingerprints on it, from the old vinyl records used as table numbers and decoration to the deckchairs on the lawn and the wildflower arch above the hills. A little boy in a sun hat stole every scene, there were happy tears during the ceremony and arms in the air under the arch. And the party? One of the best of the summer.
