Borgo Egnazia sits among olive groves near Savelletri di Fasano, on the Adriatic coast of Puglia. Opened in 2010, it was built in pale local stone to feel like a traditional Puglian village, with little streets, courtyards and whitewashed corners that glow at sunset.
It is one of the most famous wedding places in Italy, and it is easy to see why: there are courtyards and gardens for the ceremony, a golf course above the sea and the Cala Masciola beach club for sunset parties. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel married here.
Photographing your wedding here
Puglia light is bright and warm, so I plan the ceremony for later in the afternoon and keep portraits for the hour before sunset, when the stone turns honey-coloured. The olive trees and narrow lanes make wonderful, natural frames for the two of you.
