Castello di Casole is a restored 10th-century aristocratic estate near Casole d'Elsa, west of Siena, set on around 4,200 acres of hills, vineyards and olive groves. Today it is a Belmond hotel, so you get the romance of a castle with the ease of a five-star team.
There are many places to say yes: the little San Tommaso chapel, an amphitheatre, several terraces with views over the valley and a courtyard for dinner under the stars. With suites and villas on site, it works beautifully for a wedding weekend with your closest people.

Casole is all about the views, so I plan portraits on the terraces as the sun goes down and the valley turns gold and pink. The chapel and courtyard are lovely for quieter, more intimate photos earlier in the day.
