Castello di Susans stands in the hills of Majano, north of Udine. First mentioned in 1031, it was rebuilt in the late 17th century by Count Fabrizio of Colloredo Mels, who had lived at the court of Tuscany, as an elegant mansion in Tuscan style.
Three floors of furnished salons can host a full reception whatever the weather, the noble floor seats over 200 guests, and two gardens rich in trees and flowers are lovely for the aperitivo. Civil ceremonies can be held in the castle, with the parish church of Susans a short walk away, and four suites in the towers are perfect for getting ready.
Photographing your wedding here
I love castles where you can get ready, marry and dance in one place. At Susans I would photograph your preparations in the tower suites, then use the gardens and the long avenue for portraits with the Friulian hills behind you.
