Castello Formentini stands in the heart of San Floriano del Collio, a tiny hamlet on the northern edge of the Collio wine hills, right where Italy meets Slovenia's Goriška Brda. The castle and its estate belong to the Formentini family, and the whole place still feels like a private country home.

There is a beautiful main hall with a wooden beamed ceiling, a fireplace and antique paintings, seating up to around 140 guests, plus a library room for smaller moments. Next door, a guesthouse in two 17th-century buildings, a park with a pool and the historic wine cellar make it easy to keep everyone together for the whole weekend.
