Castello di Buttrio is a 16th-century palace with medieval roots on a hill in the Colli Orientali, the eastern Friulian wine hills near Udine. It belongs to the Felluga family, one of the best-known wine families of the region, and is surrounded by centuries-old vineyards.
Inside there are spacious frescoed rooms for the reception, and a small 13th-century church nearby for the ceremony. Guests can stay in the castle rooms with antique furniture and frescoed ceilings, or in the farmhouse among the vines.
Photographing your wedding here
Buttrio is all about warm stone, frescoes and vineyards. I would photograph you in the old church, then out on the hill among the vines as the sun sets over the Friulian plain.
