Villa Mosconi Bertani sits in the Novare valley, at the eastern edge of Valpolicella Classica, less than 20 minutes from Verona. Building began in the late 17th century and was completed by the Mosconi family in 1769; since 1957 it has belonged to the Bertani family, and it is closely tied to the history of Amarone.
The Neoclassical villa has a Hall of the Muses with a trompe-l’oeil ceiling, and behind it lies a romantic park with centuries-old trees, a small lake with an island and a little tea house linked to the poet Ippolito Pindemonte. Wine cellars and drying lofts complete the estate, which hosts wedding receptions.
Photographing your wedding here
Here the wedding and the wine are part of the same story. I love the frescoed hall for the speeches, the park and the lake for quiet portraits, and the old cellars with their giant barrels for a few moody frames after dinner.
